Creating a Design Culture. A richly observed article hailing from Adobe, focused on what it takes to make Design thinking part of a company’s culture. Highlight of the article includes:

“Design works best when it operates as a holistically across an organization, that plays nicely with other functions and approaches. In order to do this, leaders need to build design cultures that are contextually appropriate and contextually aware.”

Why Performance is Crucial to Improve UX. Very interesting article which details the crucial importance of performance in defining a successful product. Lack of a robust performance damages the relationship that is established between any product and its user. Highlight:

“Users have a more positive feeling about fast loading pages. A fast website gives a sense of progress. The user feels they are moving quickly towards their goal and that increases satisfaction, another metric your clients should consider.”

The Usefulness of Personas. Another article that comes into the arena that questions the relevance of personas. The article specifically goes into different examples and case studies, where the personas utilized turned out to be less than optimal for the design process. Highlight:

Alan Klement argues against personas in his article Focus On Causality, Skip Personas: There’s a fundamental problem with personas: they are made up and not real. This means they are full of errors and prejudice. Using personas will distract and lead your team to make wrong decisions.
